The layout had to be flexible. Allowing for the perfume to be placed anywhere in the layout, showing transparency or placed outside of image.
Stoneleigh Night to Day
This Stoneleigh ad was to show that the sunstones are integral for producing their renowned Sauvignon Blanc. The ancient Sunstone maintains warmth over night yielding a vibrantly ripened grape.
But when the idea was approved, the actual vines were not mature.
Ady Lander first shoots the Stoneleigh vineyard in New Zealand, then off to California to shot the almost ripened vines.
The images are composed showing the glowing warmth of the sunstones at night.
A few months later Stoneleigh requests that the night becomes day.
Below the vines in New Zealand with additional lighting up the stones & the ripe vines is California.

The Heist
This project was to subtlety show the T-Shirt (anti fashion).
Once the concept was created, it became apparent that retouching would become an integral part of the process. Being involved at the concept stage was the only way to make this process run smoothly delivering the ultimate imagery.
The location posed a variety of issues. The interior had reflections that had to be controlled, especially in such a small space. Externally wasn’t desirable with traffic & the proximity of the fuel pump.

Dummy Tattoo
Sourcing a test dummy is virtually impossible & if we did, it would have exceeded the whole budget.
A scaled male model was made. In this particular usage the test dummy was to be female. Hips & breasts were augmented alone with adding the tattoo.
To get the tattoo artists posture & shadows correct, a full sized mannequin was used. Plus a cushion was required to make it as comfortable as possible.

Lunch & Evening Cocktail
Without a doubt this was a print challenge. Making two ads on a single piece of dura-trans. Daytime without back light & then to be illuminated during the night.
The talent had to be shot in an similar position in two different garments. White dress (daytime) was the starting point, then the night dress added to match, with people & new cocktail (for night shot).
Once the images were aligned. Mixing the two image is were the understanding of the print process is paramount.
Looking at the printed images below. The printed data for the back of the dura-trans (you’ll see quickly flash) is nothing like what you’d expect. Using reflective & transmitted light theory, the desired effect is achieved.

Penguins
A fun day at the Taronga zoo.
In the making of this, it was paramount to keep it playful, to attract people of a variety of ages.
The enclosure had to encompass lots of things happening for the penguins everyday life. So we had to firstly compose the background elements then add the penguins social day. Once all together then it was creating a cubist style placement of snap shots.
Location Location
The dress was in the wrong room.
Feast
The idea of engaging a group of people in one shot is very difficult. Really the only way to achieve this is to shoot multiple shots to capture each individual at their best.

Tenant Vetting
Combining the untidy & clean households plus splitting the personality of the tenant.

Bin Numbers
Numbers out of bottles, appears to be a simple concept. But it was not. The positions of the bottles (punts & tops) had to be precise so that the number reveal becomes seamless (this allowed for any text input).

Square
Making a square format was only part of what was needed. The models right foot was cropped, fingers straightened & shadow on inner thigh removed.
